The Hikari
Quilted Flannel
Japanese cotton flannel with a quilted Toray liner. Built for coastal mornings, chilly evenings, and a lifetime of wear.
When the co-founder of Sitka Gear builds a flannel, it is not about fashion. It is about sourcing the best materials on earth and constructing something that gets better with age. The Hikari is Japanese heritage cotton married to Toray performance. Built once. Built right.

are costumes.
Thin, shapeless, built to look the part for a season and fall apart by the next. Or heavyweight and stiff — warm but impossible to move in. Fashion flannel or work flannel. Neither one built to actually live in.
The Hikari is a shirt jacket engineered for real conditions. Japanese cotton flannel on the outside. Quilted Toray performance liner on the inside. Built for coastal mornings, chilly evenings, and a lifetime of wear.
Japanese flannel.
Toray® liner.
The outer is heritage Japanese cotton flannel — dense, soft, and built to age beautifully over years of hard use. The quilted liner is Toray Primeflex, the same performance textile used across our technical line. Light stretch for easy movement. Quick-dry warmth without bulk.

a lifetime.
Every detail exists to make this the last flannel you buy. No corners cut. No filler. Just materials and construction that compound with age.
Japanese Cotton Flannel
Heritage-weight cotton that softens with every wash. Dense enough to block wind. Refined enough to wear anywhere.
Quilted Primeflex®
Performance quilted liner adds warmth without bulk. Light stretch and quick-dry properties from the same Toray technology in our technical line.
Standard Utility
Not too slim. Not boxy. Layers comfortably over a tee or button down. Order your standard size.
Shirt Jacket Weight
Heavier than a shirt, lighter than a jacket. The layer you reach for when conditions are shifting and you need one piece that handles it.
One layer.
Every condition.
Coastal mornings
The quilted liner traps warmth while the flannel outer cuts coastal wind. Light enough to move in. Warm enough to stay out.
Chilly evenings
Heavyweight enough to wear as an outer layer when the temperature drops. The density of the Japanese cotton adds real wind resistance.
Daily rotation
Clean enough for town, rugged enough for the field. The kind of piece that goes everywhere and gets better with age.
Lifetime durability
Japanese flannel that softens without thinning. Primeflex liner that holds its structure. This is not a seasonal piece — it is a permanent one.
Three colorways.
Each one ages well.
Warm gradient. The kind of color that looks better after a hundred wears.
Deep and coastal. Reads quiet in any setting.
Solid. Warm. The classic that never goes wrong.
Proven by
the season.

The perfect shirt jacket
Exactly what I was looking for. Heavy enough to wear as an outer layer but not so bulky that it restricts movement. The quilted liner makes all the difference. This is my go-to now.
Worth every dollar
The quality is immediately obvious. Japanese flannel has a weight and softness that nothing domestic comes close to. The Toray liner adds warmth without making it feel like a winter coat. Premium piece.
Best flannel I have ever owned
I have gone through a lot of flannels over the years. This is a completely different class. The construction, the fit, the materials — everything about it feels considered. Already planning to grab a second colorway.
